The Wonderboom Airshow 2025, held on Saturday, 15 November 2025, at Wonderboom National Airport, Pretoria, once again showcased South Africa’s aviation excellence — even though the show was cut short due to heavy rainfall. Gates opened at 8 am and the program began at 10 am, giving spectators several hours of high-adrenaline aerobatics and thrilling displays before the weather forced an early end at 1 pm.
A Celebration of Aviation Excellence
The airshow featured a diverse lineup of military, civilian and aerobatic aircraft, including the L‑39 Albatros, Harvards, Navions and gyrocopters. The South African Air Force (SAAF) presented its helicopter fleet with the BK-117, Agusta A109 and two Rooivalk Combat Support helicopters, one flying and one on static display.

Adding a civilian highlight, Airlink performed a display with their brand-new Embraer E195-E2, thrilling the audience with precision flying and modern design. The SAPS Air Wing also wowed spectators with skillful helicopter manoeuvres.
High-Flying Highlights Before the Rain
Despite the weather, attendees were treated to incredible performances from skydivers, aerobatic teams and helicopters, as well as family-friendly segments including emergency vehicle parades and car races. The displays before 1 pm showcased the skill, professionalism and dedication of all participating pilots and crews.
