National Championship Air Races unveil 2025 competitor lineup

The National Championship Air Races (NCAR) have announced the official competitor field for their highly anticipated 2025 return, set for September 10–14 in Roswell, New Mexico. This marks the first time the world’s fastest motorsport will be staged in Roswell, bringing a new chapter to the event’s storied history.

Fans can expect five days of thrilling aerial competition across multiple classes, from the high-speed Jet Class and classic T-6 Class to the tight turns of Formula 1 and Biplanes, along with the crowd-favorite STOL Drag. Each pilot and aircraft carries forward decades of racing tradition into this bold new era in the Land of Enchantment.

“Unveiling our race field is one of the most exciting moments leading up to race week,” said Fred Telling, Chairman and CEO of the Reno Air Racing Association. “This lineup showcases the incredible dedication, passion and spirit of our race teams, and we can’t wait to welcome fans from around the world to Roswell to witness history in the making.”

Competitor Highlights by Class

Biplane Class: Sam Swift (#3), Michael Langston (#8), Andrew McVicker (#17), Tommy Suell (#25), Scott Prewitt (#314), Blake Prewitt (#411), Joshua Saddlemire (#831) and others.

Formula 1 Class: Chet Harris (#00), Mark McIntyre (#10), Joshua Watson (#31), Justin Phillipson (#79), Drew Keenan (#81), Andrew Mack (#82), Eric Dienst (#85).

Jet Class: Bob McCormack (#1, #6), Jerry “Jive” Kerby (#11), Kevin Roll (#16), Nathan Harnagel (#55), Tammy and Charles Camilleri (#61), Scott Gusakov (#84), Mark Davis (#90), Bill Culberson (#100).

Looking Ahead

With the competitor field confirmed, the countdown to Roswell is officially underway. Fans can also look forward to airshow performances, military and civilian displays, and the STEM Discovery Zone powered by GRADD. NCAR will reveal the full airshow performer lineup later this week, promising legendary acts and surprises to complement the races.
