Aerospace manufacturer Embraer and aircraft leasing firm Azorra have signed an additional firm order for 15 E195-E2 aircraft, pushing the manufacturer’s flagship E2 program past a major lifetime milestone of 500 total orders. The new agreement also secures purchase rights for an additional 15 jets, further strengthening the long-standing commercial partnership between the two companies.
The transaction marks the third increase to Azorra’s original E2 order book first established in December 2021, effectively raising the lessor’s total firm E2 commitments from 39 to 54 aircraft. The expansion reflects rising lessor confidence and robust global airline demand for small narrowbody aircraft that optimize capacity, reduce carbon emissions and enhance network planning flexibility.
The E2 family continues to build significant commercial momentum across international aviation markets, with more than 200 aircraft currently in active service with 24 airline customers. The E195-E2 is Embraer’s largest commercial aircraft variant, highly regarded for its low fuel burn, ultra-quiet acoustic signature and a passenger-friendly two-by-two cabin layout that eliminates middle seats.
“Our continued investment in Embraer’s E2 family reflects the strong demand we are seeing from airlines around the world for right-sized, fuel-efficient aircraft that deliver operational, economic and network planning advantages,” said John Evans, Chief Executive Officer of Azorra. “The E2 has proven to be an ideal solution for airlines seeking to open new markets and modernize their fleets while enhancing the passenger experience.”
Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, emphasized the importance of the deal, noting that passing the 500-order threshold is a proud milestone that validates the economic performance and market appeal of the aircraft. Headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with offices in Dublin, Ireland, Azorra manages a diverse portfolio of 338 aviation assets. This new firm order will be officially absorbed into Embraer’s 2026 second-quarter financial backlog.
