While flight schools are seeing their busiest period in many years a number of challenges exist in pilot training, particularly for local candidates that threaten the potential supply stream into commercial operators.
This was a big talking point at the GenAv conference held earlier this year in the NAC hangar at Lanseria International Airport and a panel discussion with 43 Air School, Loutzavia Flight School, SIMAERO and Skyhawk Aviation unpacked the state of pilot training in South Africa and the navigation from a PPL to the career choice in the airlines.
