Aerobatics was the name of the game in East London when Wings Park held the South African Aerobatics Nationals from the 15th to 18th June.
This is the first time that the Eastern Cape has held the Sport Aerobatic National Championships since the first aerobatic competition was held in 1963.

Patrick Davidson came first in the Unlimited Class with an overall score of 82,51% flying his American registered Gamebird.
Advanced Class saw Kayle Wooll as the winner at 78,489%, followed by Cliff Lotter and Pierre Du Plooy in second and third respectively. Jurie Steyn, flying a Zlin 50 came first in Intermediate Class followed by Rodger Deare in his Extra 300. Sportsman Class sported Darren Hanner as first in a Yak 52, followed by Wally Goodrich in his RV7, with Mitch Hill taking third in the Yak 52.

The last class was the RV Class with Div Visser in the RV8 and Ian Beatonb in the RV7.
Overall 16 competitors were initially entered, but due to various challenges, only 12 actually competed over the four days.
Wings Park is privately owned, and provided excellent facilities and were fine hosts to all.
Making ATNS proud were Megan Evans, Benji Phukubje and Sam Herman.
A thank you must go to all organisers and competitors involved and to Annie Boon for making this event the success it was.
