The build-up to this weekend’s show kicked off in style on Wednesday morning, 3 June, when the iconic Alouette III took on the Gautrain in a race that had Pretoria talking — a fitting curtain-raiser to the SAAF Museum Airshow briefing that followed, setting the tone for what promises to be a spectacular weekend at Swartkop.
South Africa’s aviation calendar has no shortage of highlights, but few events carry the weight and sheer spectacle of the South African Air Force Museum Airshow. This Saturday, 6 June 2026, the skies above Swartkop in Pretoria will thunder once again as one of the country’s most beloved airshows makes its return — and the lineup is something special.
From the SAAF, expect the Hawk Mk120, the Agusta A109 LUH and the elegant Dassault Falcon 50, with more military hardware still to be confirmed. The SAAF Museum’s remarkable collection of airworthy historic aircraft will also take to the skies, with the Alouette III, Harvard and Bosbok all confirmed to fly — living, breathing pieces of South African aviation history doing what they were built to do.
On the civilian side, an Extra 330 aerobatic display, the ever-spectacular Puma Flying Lions and the timeless grace of the Tiger Moths round out a programme that has something for every aviation fan. And with the organisers promising much more still to be announced, the final lineup is only going to get better.
Swartkop is one of those venues that gets under your skin. The history is in the ground, the hangars and the air itself — and on show day, it all comes alive in the best possible way.
Tickets are available through Computicket. Book early — this one will fill up fast.
