Textron Aviation, a subsidiary of Textron Inc. , has announced that Turkish Airlines Flight Academy has signed a purchase agreement for 10 additional Cessna Skyhawk aircraft, further expanding its training fleet to meet growing pilot demand across Europe.

The academy currently operates 66 Skyhawks, making it one of the largest training fleets of its kind in the region. Deliveries of the new aircraft are expected to commence later this year.

“The Cessna Skyhawk continues to set the benchmark for flight training worldwide, offering the reliability, performance and operating efficiency that flight schools depend on,” said Lannie O’Bannion, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Textron Aviation. “This latest order highlights Turkish Airlines Flight Academy’s confidence in the platform as it continues to scale its training capacity to meet long-term pilot demand.”

Established in 2013, Turkish Airlines Flight Academy is based in Aydin and operates as the official training arm of Turkish Airlines. The academy plays a key role in training pilots not only for the national carrier but also for other regional airlines, supporting a sustainable pipeline of commercial aviators.

In response to increasing training requirements, the academy has steadily expanded its Skyhawk fleet, taking delivery of 51 aircraft over the past five years. The latest acquisition will further standardise operations while reinforcing Textron Aviation’s strong position in the global flight training market.
