CemAir and Kenya Airways Announce New Commercial Partnership to Enhance Regional Connectivity

CemAir and Kenya Airways have announced a new commercial partnership through a Special Prorate Agreement, aimed at improving travel options and strengthening regional connectivity across Southern and East Africa.

The agreement establishes interline-style cooperation between the two airlines, enabling smoother journey planning and ticketing across selected routes on both networks. By combining their regional strengths, CemAir and Kenya Airways aim to deliver tangible benefits to customers, including easier connections, greater flexibility and improved access to a wider range of destinations for business and leisure passengers.

On 18 March 2026, CemAir CEO Miles van der Molen said: “We are delighted to be upgrading our longstanding relationship with Kenya Airways to a strategic partnership. Kenya Airways is one of the most established and recognized airlines on the continent and is based in the regional economic hub of Kenya. Our combined networks and strengths create a solid foundation for future growth and connectivity across the continent and beyond and we look forward to deepening this collaboration for the benefit of our customers.”

“We are pleased to partner with CemAir to further expand our network and offer our customers more seamless travel options across the continent,” said Captain George Kamal, Ag. Group Managing Director & CEO of Kenya Airways. “This collaboration reflects our continued commitment to connecting Africa’s people, cultures and markets while creating opportunities that support the growth and prosperity of the regions we serve.”

Both airlines view this agreement as the first phase of a broader commercial relationship, with discussions on future cooperation continuing in line with operational, regulatory and insurance requirements. The Special Prorate Agreement is now live.
