Embraer and SNC announced at the AFA Air, Space & Cyber Conference an agreement for the sale of one A-29 Super Tucano aircraft to SNC, ahead of a pending Foreign Military Sales case. The early sale allows pilot training to begin immediately upon anticipated contract award and could reduce time to Initial Operational Capability by up to a year. The aircraft will be built at Embraer’s defense production line in Jacksonville, Florida.

Over the past decade, Embraer and SNC have delivered nearly 50 A-29s to air forces worldwide. The turboprop aircraft is renowned for rugged design, operational flexibility, and multi-mission capability, performing roles from advanced pilot training and close air support to ISR, air interdiction, JTAC training, and border surveillance. It can operate from unimproved runways and austere forward operating bases.
Selected by 22 air forces, the A-29 combines cost-effective operations with state-of-the-art avionics, weapons systems, and communications suites. Its high reliability, low maintenance needs, and robust airframe make it a proven asset for U.S. and allied forces, including the U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command.
