Effective 1 August 2025, the acquired operations will be absorbed into Safran Electronics & Defense, strengthening the company’s reach across 180 aircraft platforms. Safran CEO Olivier Andriès called the deal a “unique opportunity” to deliver a comprehensive flight control offering and drive next-gen aircraft innovation.
The acquisition pairs Collins’ world-class hydraulic and mechanical systems with Safran’s cutting-edge electro-mechanical expertise—ideal for a future of electrified and decarbonised aviation. In addition to bolstering military and helicopter segments, the deal offers 40% of revenues from stable aftermarket services and promises $50 million in annual synergies by 2028.
As part of regulatory compliance, Safran has sold its North American actuation business to Woodward Inc. The move reflects Safran’s ongoing strategy of profitable, future-focused growth while delivering high-tech solutions to a rapidly evolving global aviation market.
