Kruger National Park has issued a strong reminder to all visitors: drones are strictly prohibited — no exceptions, no excuses.

Flying unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or drones in any South African national park is illegal under the NEMA Protected Areas Act. The rule is clear: you cannot fly below 2,500 feet above the highest point of the park without explicit permission from SANParks.
Why does this matter?
Beyond breaking the law, rogue drone flights can disturb wildlife, stress endangered species, and ruin the experience for other visitors who come to enjoy the park’s untouched natural beauty.
Offenders will face arrest on the spot and risk having their equipment confiscated. SANParks is urging all visitors to respect these protected skies — and to report any drone sightings immediately to park authorities.
Protect the wilderness, respect the rules — and leave the drone at home.
