Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 18 November 2025 – flydubai has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus for 150 A321neo aircraft marking the airline’s first order with Airbus and one of its largest fleet commitments to date. The agreement highlights flydubai’s confidence in Dubai’s long-term growth and its alignment with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of flydubai, signed the MoU with Christian Scherer, CEO Commercial Aircraft at Airbus, during a ceremony on the second day of the Dubai Airshow 2025. flydubai CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith was also in attendance.

Sheikh Ahmed said the acquisition represents a major milestone in the airline’s expansion strategy and will support future operations at Dubai World Central which is set to become the world’s largest airport. He noted that the A321neos will help meet rising travel demand and support new network opportunities.

Christian Scherer welcomed flydubai as a new Airbus customer and highlighted the A321neo’s advantages in range, fuel efficiency and passenger comfort.

The A321neo, part of the A320neo Family, features new generation engines, Sharklets and cabin innovations delivering more than 20% fuel savings compared to previous single-aisle aircraft. By the end of October 2025 more than 7,200 A321neos had been ordered by nearly 100 customers worldwide.
