Robinson’s R88 Makes Powerful First Impression at APSCON 2025

As APSCON 2025 wraps up in Phoenix, Robinson Helicopter Company closes the show on a high note after the sensational debut of its newest and most advanced rotorcraft: the R88. Making its first public safety appearance, the R88 stole the spotlight as a bold evolution in Robinson’s lineup—their largest and most mission-ready helicopter in nearly 15 years.

Originally unveiled at Verticon 2025, the ten-seat, turbine-powered R88 is purpose-built for high-demand public safety roles including firefighting, air ambulance, law enforcement, and SAR missions. Visitors praised its spacious flat-floor cabin, large dual sliding doors, and smart adaptability for everything from stretcher systems to cargo hauling.

With a Safran Arriel 2W engine at its heart, the R88 also boasts cutting-edge Garmin avionics, a four-axis autopilot, dual hydraulics, and optional mission gear like a firefighting tank, HEC-rated cargo hook, and emergency floats—delivering capability and safety in one powerful package.

Robinson also spotlighted its unmanned subsidiary, Ascent AeroSystems, which drew strong interest for its coaxial drone systems and MUM-T (Manned-Unmanned Teaming) tech.

With global dealer deposits already underway and certification progressing, the R88 is gearing up to redefine mid-size utility helicopter performance for the public safety world.
