It is with great sadness that all of us at Smoke on Go say goodbye to well-known and respected aerobatic pilot and aviator, Mark Sampson.

Mark (also known as ‘SAMMY’), was taken from us tragically, while performing a low-level display in Harare late Tuesday afternoon. The Marksmen Aerobatic Team was in Nairobi, Kenya for a VIP show and was returning home to Cape Town with a stopover in Harare to SA.

Mark started his flying career with a PPL in 1990 at age 22 before joining the SAAF in 1993.

He started flying airliners in 1997, later moving to Hong Kong. In 2014 he took up aerobatics after buying his (Sbach) XtremeAir XA41 aircraft.
