U.S.-based cargo carrier National Airlines has successfully completed what is believed to be the world’s longest commercial Boeing 777 Freighter flight carrying live cargo. The ultra-long-haul mission covered 9,849 nautical miles nonstop from Prestwick, Scotland to Melbourne, Australia in 19 hours and 23 minutes.

The flight was operated using one of National Airlines’ newest Boeing 777 Freighters (registration N792CA) to transport time-critical Aircraft on Ground (AOG) components for another airline. Designed to resolve an urgent maintenance requirement, the entire charter was planned, coordinated and launched within 30 hours of the initial customer enquiry.

The mission generated widespread public interest on global flight-tracking platforms, with more than 35,000 individuals following its progress in real time as the aircraft traversed international airspace.

National Airlines Chairman Chris Alf described the historic flight as a milestone operational achievement that demonstrates the carrier’s ability to execute complex, time-sensitive cargo operations with speed and precision. The mission highlights the expanding capabilities of National Airlines’ fleet, which currently includes nine Boeing 747-400 freighters, four Boeing 777-200 freighters and three Airbus passenger aircraft serving over 450 airports globally each year.
