Indian airports remain unaffected by cyber attack

A recent cyber-attack on Collins Aerospace’s Muse check-in and boarding system disrupted operations at several European airports, causing delays and cancellations in places like London Heathrow and Berlin. Reports confirm that major Indian airports have not been affected so far, and operations there continue to run smoothly.

A senior government official has stated that while India uses some airport systems tied to Collins, the key facilities remain secure and no adverse impact has been reported. Airports including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Goa are operating normally.

Air India has issued a travel advisory for passengers flying from Europe, recommending web check-in to help ease any indirect effects caused by disruptions overseas. The airline emphasises that Indian ground operations have strong contingency protocols in place.

The incident spotlights the importance of resilience in aviation systems and raises questions about third-party software reliance. Indian aviation authorities are now closely watching developments to assess any future risk exposure.
