The Cessna SkyCourier is making its debut in Mongolia with charter operator Hunnu Air placing the country’s first order for the versatile twin-engine turboprop. Hunnu Air will use the new aircraft to strengthen domestic tourism and cargo operations across Mongolia.

The Cessna SkyCourier is designed and produced by Textron Aviation Inc., a Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) company.

“Designed for versatility and performance, the Cessna SkyCourier is a strong fit to support Hunnu Air’s services across Mongolia,” said Lannie O’Bannion, senior vice president, Sales & Marketing. “The increasing global popularity of the aircraft underscores its exceptional adaptability in supporting air freight, charter and special missions use cases, showcasing its broad appeal across diverse operational sectors.”

Since 2011, Hunnu Air has played a key role in Mongolia’s aviation sector as the nation’s second-largest airline. The carrier has steadily expanded both domestic and international routes, with a focus on providing reliable, efficient services. With its performance, reliability and capacity, the SkyCourier is well suited for operations across Mongolia’s vast and varied landscapes, supporting VIP transport and boosting access to remote destinations. The investment reflects Hunnu Air’s commitment to broadening air travel options and reinforcing Mongolia’s growing tourism industry.

Textron Aviation recently marked the first Canadian delivery of the SkyCourier to Air Bravo Corporation, the aircraft’s first delivery in South America and certification of its Combi configuration by the National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil.

About the Cessna SkyCourier

The Cessna SkyCourier twin-engine, high-wing turboprop delivers performance with reduced operating costs for freight, commuter and special mission operators. The freighter variant is sized to carry up to three LD3 containers with a payload of 6,000 pounds, while the 19-passenger variant includes separate crew and passenger doors and large cabin windows for natural light. Both configurations feature single-point pressure refueling to enable faster turnarounds. The aircraft is powered by two wing-mounted Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-65SC turboprop engines and fitted with McCauley C779 four-blade aluminum propellers measuring 110 inches, full feathering and reversible pitch to optimise performance under heavy loads. Operated with Garmin G1000 NXi avionics, the SkyCourier achieves a maximum cruise speed of more than 200 KTAS and a range of 900 nautical miles.
