Honeywell has announced the expansion of its IntuVue™ RDR-7000 3D weather radar technology to ground-based applications, bringing its proven airborne radar capabilities to general aviation (GA) airports.
The system uses volumetric 3D scanning to provide real-time high-resolution weather monitoring along intended flight paths. Designed to support pre-departure planning and low-altitude operations, the solution enhances situational awareness, helping airports and operators make safer more informed decisions during adverse weather.

“This expansion of IntuVue™ demonstrates how Honeywell continues to extend its radar leadership across airborne and ground-based applications,” said Amit Kaul, leader, Business & General Aviation, Asia Pacific, Honeywell Aerospace. “By making this proven radar technology available for airport operations, we help customers address real operational challenges with greater confidence.”
The RDR-7000 ground radar solution offers a more complete view of weather conditions compared with conventional systems. It is capable of detecting hazardous phenomena such as wind shear and thunderstorms in low-altitude environments, supporting safer operations at GA airports.
