The National Airways Corporation (NAC) has strengthened its commitment to lifesaving aviation with the addition of a new Bell 430 helicopter to its fleet dedicated to air ambulance operations in partnership with Netcare 911.
The Bell 430, a twin-engine light-medium helicopter, offers exceptional speed, range and versatility—qualities that make it an ideal platform for emergency medical services (EMS). Fully equipped with advanced aeromedical systems, the aircraft allows medical teams to provide critical care while in flight ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of treatment from scene to hospital.
This latest addition enhances NAC’s and Netcare 911’s shared mission of delivering rapid-response world-class aeromedical transport across South Africa and beyond. With the increasing demand for air ambulance services in both urban and remote areas, the new Bell 430 will play a vital role in improving response times and expanding operational reach.
“Safety, efficiency and patient care remain at the heart of our operations,” said a spokesperson from NAC. “The addition of this aircraft reinforces our ability to support Netcare 911 in their lifesaving work combining aviation excellence with medical expertise.”
The collaboration between NAC and Netcare 911 continues to set the benchmark for aeromedical excellence in Africa, demonstrating how innovation and partnership can truly make a difference in emergency healthcare delivery.
