Cessna Citation M2 Gen2 Enters Service with Garmin Autothrottles

Textron Aviation has introduced the Cessna Citation M2 Gen2 equipped with Garmin Autothrottles into service, further enhancing the capabilities of the world’s most delivered light-entry jet. The system was certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in October 2025.

Designed and manufactured by Textron Aviation Inc., the M2 Gen2 continues to set the benchmark in its segment. The addition of Garmin Autothrottles improves power management throughout the flight envelope, providing protection against over- and under-speed conditions while reducing pilot workload particularly during high-demand phases of flight.

“With Garmin Autothrottles now available, pilots gain a more intuitive and efficient flying experience,” said Lannie O’Bannion, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Textron Aviation.

The Autothrottle system integrates seamlessly with the Garmin G3000 avionics suite, allowing pilots to focus on situational awareness, navigation and decision-making while delivering smoother and more precise flight operations.

The M2 Gen2 also offers a refined cabin with premium interior styling, ambient lighting, improved connectivity and increased cockpit comfort. Performance highlights include a maximum cruise speed of 404 knots, a range of 1,550 nautical miles and the ability to operate from runways as short as 3,210 feet. Powered by Williams FJ44-1AP-21 engines, the aircraft climbs to 41,000 feet in 24 minutes and is certified for single-pilot operation.

Supported by Textron Aviation’s global Aftermarket network, the Citation M2 Gen2 continues to deliver a balance of performance, technology and operational efficiency, reinforcing its leadership in the light-entry jet market.
