MD Helicopters Delivers First MD 530F to Zimbabwean Wildlife Conservation Agency

MD Helicopters has announced the successful delivery of a new MD 530F rotorcraft to an operator in Zimbabwe, marking the first time this specific aircraft model has been delivered into the Southern African country. The light single-engine helicopter was officially accepted by the customer at the manufacturer’s primary production facility in Mesa, Arizona before being prepared for international shipment.

The aircraft is destined for a prominent wildlife conservation agency in Southern Africa to support highly demanding regional operations, including anti-poaching patrols, aerial surveillance and wildlife monitoring. To ensure a seamless transition, MD Helicopters is providing a complete turnkey delivery solution for the aircraft, managing everything from initial factory preparation and export coordination to complex international logistics management and final on-site delivery support.

The MD 530F is recognized globally for its high reliability, small operational footprint and versatile mission capabilities. It is particularly valued for its exceptional performance characteristics in challenging “hot and high” atmospheric conditions, which are typical of the rugged Southern African terrain during peak operating seasons.

Ryan Weeks, President and Chief Executive Officer of MD Helicopters, noted that the milestone delivery demonstrates the company’s commitment to supporting global operators through customized logistics, manufacturing precision and long-term aftermarket support. The deployment further expands the manufacturer’s international presence and strengthens its expanding network of mission-ready aircraft operating across the African continent.
