New initiative offers clear path to modernize aircraft and enhance safety
Robinson Helicopter Company (RHC), the world’s leading manufacturer of civil helicopters, has introduced a new Trade-In Program that makes it easier and more affordable for current Robinson owners to transition into a brand-new aircraft.

Through the program, owners of the R22 Beta II, R44 Cadet, R44 Raven I, R44 Raven II, and R66 can trade in their existing helicopter for credit toward the purchase of a new Robinson model.
The initiative provides a streamlined alternative to costly overhauls, enabling operators to access the latest safety features, advanced avionics, and performance upgrades. Modern options include impact-resistant windshields, Garmin glass cockpit systems, and upcoming innovations such as the R66 NxG and R88.
“The new trade-in program underscores Robinson Helicopter’s commitment to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement,” said David Smith, President and CEO of Robinson Helicopter Company. “It gives our customers an easier path to modernize their fleet while gaining access to the most advanced features available.”
To participate, owners submit detailed photos and logbooks of their aircraft for review. Within 14 business days, Robinson provides a written trade-in offer through the local dealer. Once accepted, the aircraft is delivered to Robinson’s Torrance, California headquarters for inspection. If deemed airworthy, a credit is issued, and the owner has 90 days to apply it toward the purchase of a new helicopter.
With this program, Robinson strengthens its commitment to keeping customers flying safely and efficiently while ensuring they have access to the company’s next generation of rotorcraft.
