Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company, has joined forces with Heli-One and Milestone Aviation to establish a Center of Excellence for S-92® helicopters in Brazil. Based in Rio de Janeiro, the center will be led by CHC Helicopter Group’s MRO division, Heli-One, and aims to enhance support services, mission readiness, and fleet availability across South America.

The initiative will focus on supporting critical operations such as rescue and recovery, offshore transport, and VIP services. With more than 30 S-92 helicopters currently operating in Brazil, the Center will deliver scheduled maintenance, overhauls, improved supply chain logistics, and access to key components like gearboxes and blades.

“This collaboration strengthens the long-term service and availability of the S-92 fleet in South America,” said Leon Silva, Sikorsky VP. CHC Helicopter CEO Tom Burke and Milestone CEO Pat Sheedy echoed the significance of the initiative for fleet efficiency and operational growth in the region.

The S-92 is certified in multiple Latin American countries and continues to evolve with recent platform enhancements. Full implementation of the Center of Excellence is pending final internal approvals, with further updates expected in the coming months.
